Pat Riley's cool factor just shot through the roof.

The Miami Heat president put his basketball duties aside for a bit on Thursday to join legendary funk band Earth, Wind & Fire for an impromptu jam session -- for a good cause.

Riley was seen playing the bongos with the group during the Heat's Under the Moon and Stars charity gala.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser, now in its eighth year, go to a number of different organizations supported by the Miami Heat Charitable Fund.

This year's gala raised money for Jackson's Memorial Fund, Guardian Angels Pediatric Care Unit, Home Strong and SafeSpace, among others.
