Was this the tweet that signaled Dwyane Wade's departure from the Heat?
After 13 seasons, Dwyane Wade will be wearing something other than a Miami Heat jersey. The 12-time All-Star reportedly is on his way to his hometown Chicago Bulls, stunning the basketball world.
But should we be shocked that this was his ultimate decision? Wade did give us a hint on Twitter just two days ago.
Now, was Wade referencing the growing rift between himself and the only organization he's played for? Only he could answer that. But as the days passed and the reported flirtations with other teams continued, this tweet seemed to hold more weight.
Wade had to wait while the Heat focused their free-agent efforts on retaining Hassan Whiteside and pitching Kevin Durant. The frustration appeared to be even more real when he reportedly upped his asking price to $50 million after the Heat reportedly offered a two-year, $40 million contract.
The Heat apparently didn't want to fall into the same trap the Lakers did with Kobe Bryant, who received a two-year, $48.5 million contract to finish his career. It looks like Pat Riley wanted no part of that kind of going-away gift for Wade.
