Tiger wants LeBron to go to Lakers

Tiger Woods weighed in on the LeBron James debate Tuesday with his own ideas on where the Cleveland Cavaliers star should end up next season.

"Yeah, actually I would love to see him go to the Lakers," the world's top golfer said. "I'm an L.A. guy, can't help it. That would be interesting, wouldn't it?"

James is the most coveted player available entering the NBA free agency period which begins Thursday at 12:01 a.m. This year's crop of free agents is considered to be one of the greatest group that has ever been available.

Clubs have been clearing payroll for years just so they would be in position to offer maximum salaries to players like James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh.

Woods is in Philadelphia this week to try to defend his title at the PGA Tour's AT&T National at the Aronimink Golf Club.

Woods also told reporters Tuesday that his deceased father, Earl Woods, speaks to him during crucial moments in tournaments.

"When I get out there, sometimes I'll even hear his voice coming down the stretch on the back nine. That's pretty neat," he said.
