The Spurs made a few interesting roster moves over the weekend

The San Antonio Spurs appear to have their opening night roster in place. They got there here by choosing the 36-year-old Rasual Butler over a 29-year-old Reggie Williams. Both players were on non-guaranteed contracts, and both can shoot the three ball.

But Butler gets to stay. Why? Maybe it's because he actually contributed at the NBA level last season.  Playing for Washington, Butler shot 38.7 percent from the three-point line on 235 attempts.

That number would've been even higher had he not melted after the All-Star break. But it's unlikely the Spurs will need anything from Butler that late in the season anyway.
