The Phoenix Suns have signed forward-center Dwayne Jones, the leading rebounder in the NBA Developmental League this season.

The team announced the move Monday.

The 6-foot-11, 250-pound Jones averaged 17.6 points and 16 rebounds for the Austin Toros. He has had NBA stints with Charlotte, Cleveland and Boston since coming to the league in 2005.

The Suns, scrambling for playoff position, are without starting center Robin Lopez because of a bulging disk.

Jones will be eligible for the playoffs. Phoenix just completed a 4-1 road trip and next plays Wednesday night at home against San Antonio.
