Spurs' Parker out with hamstring strain

Published Dec. 14, 2014 9:02 p.m. ET

DENVER (AP) The San Antonio Spurs were without ailing Tony Parker for Sunday night's game at Denver.

Parker was held out with a mild left hamstring strain that has caused him to miss four of the last five games.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, learned they could be without center JaVale McGee for substantial additional time. McGee has missed nine of Denver's previous 23 games this season due to lingering soreness in his surgically repaired left leg.

''I heard six weeks at one point,'' Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. ''I don't know. I don't think he's anywhere close to coming back right now.''

McGee missed all but five games last season due to a stress fracture of his left tibia.
