So you think you can sing? Suns to audition national anthem singers
41 times a year (and a few more if a team is lucky enough to make the playoffs), a home NBA crowd is dazzled by a rendition of the national anthem. The singers range from professionals to children with pipes of gold. And now, if you're on the greater Arizona area, the Phoenix Suns are offering you an opportunity to show what you've got -- and possibly deliver your own version of the anthem before a Suns game in 2015-16.
The team's official website reports that the Suns will host tryouts for anthem singers all day long on September 14 at the arena (currently US Airways Center, the venue is set to be rechristened Talking Stick Resort Arena later this fall). The auditions will start at 7 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m. local time, with three groupings during the course of the day.
The auditions are first-come, first-serve, and parking is free for anyone participating in the auditions.
