Russell Westbrook when asked if Kevin Durant leaving OKC stings: 'For who?'

Published Aug. 4, 2016 6:50 p.m. ET

On Thursday afternoon, Russell Westbrook put all the trade and free agency rumors to rest (for now) as he officially announced his contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder -- the only franchise the perennial superstar point guard has ever played for.

After receiving a hero's welcome by the OKC fans:

Westbrook took to the podium to answer questions from the media -- the most notable of which, inquiring if Russell felt "stung" by Kevin Durant choosing to sign with the Golden State Warriors.

Westbrook's answer was nothing short of priceless:

"Stings for who?". This is why he is the Bestbrook of all Westbrooks, he fights wars on the court and takes no prisoners -- regardless of who you are.

After this press conference and the praise he received from the local citizens upon arrival, if Westbrook ran for governor of Oklahoma right now, you got to believe he'd be in serious contention to win the seat.
