The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly got a bit of a break over the holidays.

According to multiple reports, the Cavaliers have been granted a disabled player exception after center Anderson Varejao suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. ESPN.com notes that the exception is worth nearly $4.9 million. Varejao was injured on Dec. 23.

According to multiple reports, the Cavaliers can now use the exception to sign or trade for one player on a one-year contract with a salary that does not exceed that amount. The exception expires March 10.
