Report: Wesley Matthews ahead of schedule in Achilles rehab

Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews suffered an awful blow when he tore his Achilles in a contract year, but some good news on his recovery may help his cause this offseason.

The 28-year-old Matthews is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com:

Matthews will be free to meet with other teams on July 1.
