Report: Wade, Bosh refuse to watch TV
Heat stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are not watching TV until the coverage of the "Crygate" saga dies down, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Wade said he had not watched TV or read newspapers since Sunday, when Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters his players had been crying in the locker rooms after an 87-86 loss to the Chicago Bulls.
"I've totally shut it down. I don't want to hear anything. I want to focus on what it takes for us to get this ship right again," said Wade.
Spoelstra's comments drew global attention, with the players widely criticized for their tears.
On Monday, Spoelstra backpedaled from his comments, saying his players were just upset and that it was all just "sensationalism" by the media. But the issue has not gone away, with the Heat's fifth straight loss, to Portland on Tuesday, only adding to the team's woes.
"I've been in my own world for the past 24-48 [hours]," added Bosh.
"I really don't know what's going on. I haven't watched TV. I haven't been on the internet. I've just been out doing other stuff. I've heard a little bit about it. My friends try to talk about it. I shut it down right off the bat."
Things may yet get worse for the Heat, as they face the Los Angeles Lakers in a Thursday night blockbuster in Miami. The Lakers go into the game on an eight-game winning streak.
