Report: Riley sued over leaky basement

Published Apr. 2, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Basketball Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley is being sued for $551,000 for causing damage to his neighbor's basement, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The documents state Riley and his wife Christine overhauled their home in Malibu, Calif., in 2009 with new landscaping, terracing and a new irrigation system.

Shortly after the work was completed, their neighbors began noticing a major leakage problem, causing their basement to flood.

The neighbors claim their own "French drainage" system was damaged as a result of the Rileys' renovations, and are now seeking compensation.
