Updated Mar. 4, 2020 9:33 p.m. ET

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has won the bidding war for the Los Angeles Clippers with a $2 billion bid, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

The deal would still have to be approved by disgraced owner Donald Sterling, as well as other NBA owners, according to the report.

The Times notes the sale price would be almost quadruple the highest previous NBA franchise sale price. The Milwaukee Bucks were purchased for $550 million earlier this month.
