Report: Erving's house in foreclosure

Published Dec. 16, 2010 2:46 a.m. ET

Basketball legend Julius "Dr. J" Erving's 6,700-square foot house in Utah has entered foreclosure, TMZ reported Wednesday.

The house went into pre-foreclosure in November after Erving defaulted on the loan. He has been trying to sell the property for more than a year.

Erving reportedly told TMZ that the house is "substantially underwater," meaning he owes more on his mortgage than the home is worth.

The house, located in St. George, Utah, is worth $2.23 million, according to Foreclosures.com. St. George is located in the southwest corner of Utah, about 120 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada.
