Oklahoma City appears close to hiring Florida coach Billy Donovan, which seems just fine with the Thunder's biggest superstar.

Yahoo! Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Thunder are preparing an offer for Donovan and that Donovan is “enthusiastic” about the job. Woj also noted that Kevin Durant has reached out to at least one former Florida player to find out more about Donovan, and Durant has become “generally positive” about the potential hiring.

Having Durant on board should be very important for Oklahoma City, as he is set to become a free agent after next season. The recent statement Durant posted on Instagram after Scott Brooks was fired seemed to indicate he was not necessarily in favor of the move.

There has already been speculation that Durant may want to return to his hometown to play for the Wizards, but he said about a month ago that he would love to spend his entire career with the Thunder. Having a coach he likes playing for and a successful season next year would go a long way toward OKC making sure that happens.
