Report: Artest working on reality show

Look out, Lamar Odom -- your teammate, Ron Artest, is aiming to steal some of your reality show thunder, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Laker is spending the off-season working on a potential new reality show called "Last Second Shot."

The series, which has not yet been picked up by a network, will focus on rehabilitating parolees.

"We feel we can do something that nobody has really done and that will actually effect change and give parolees a chance to break the cycle of violence," said Rasha Drachkovitch, president of 44 Blue Productions and executive producer of Artest's show.

Artest will host the series, which will involve "everything from boot camp, to shake these guys out of their lethargic paths, to one-on-one sessions with clinical psychologists, who can get to the root of the problems that are causing (the parolees) to repeat-offend," Drachkovitch said.

Artest, an advocate for mental health awareness, has had his own share of brushes with the law. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault, following a 2004 Pistons-Pacers brawl, and misdemeanor domestic abuse in 2007.

The show marks Artest's second shot at breaking into reality TV.

Last year, he made a pilot for a show based on his attempts to make amends for past actions and his work on his hip-hop music label.
