Report: Arron Afflalo (hamstring) could return to Knicks on Wednesday

Arron Afflalo is yet to play in a regular season game for the Knicks this year. After hurting his hamstring in the preseason, coming back and then reinjurying that same hammy, Afflalo has missed New York first seven games on the way to a 3-4 start for the Knicks.

Now though, it appears he is well on his way back, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday:

Knicks fans are begging for the return of Afflalo, not because their newest shooting guard is so great (he had a major down year with Denver and Portland last year), but because the play of the Knicks' starting guards has been so underwhelming.

At this point, Knicks fans are rightfully itching to get Sasha Vujacic out of the starting lineup. Vujacic is shooting 30 percent from the field and 19 percent from three, and yet, coach Derek Fisher continues to play him more than 20 minutes a night. Afflalo, regardless of which one the Knicks get, will surely be better than that.

Arron Afflalo could make his Knicks' debut Wednesday in Charlotte.

The veteran shooting guard said he won't play Tuesday night against the Raptors because of a strained left hamstring. But he's shooting for Wednesday or later this week. The Knicks play Cleveland on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
