Rambis ejected in technical fest

Published Jan. 12, 2011 2:42 a.m. ET

Minnesota Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis has been ejected from the game against San Antonio during a five-technical foul spree in the third quarter.

Referee Ken Mauer called all five technical fouls against the Timberwolves in a 10-second span of the third quarter on Tuesday night.

Darko Milicic and Corey Brewer were whistled for demonstration, which has been a point of emphasis for the NBA this season. Rambis then approached Mauer to discuss the foul calls and was given two quick techs and ejected.

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili went 4 for 4 from the line.

The Spurs retained possession and 10 seconds later, Mauer gave Kevin Love a technical foul for pleading for a loose-ball foul on Tim Duncan that wasn't called.
