Quick Hits: Memphis Grizzlies 88, L.A. Clippers 99
The Memphis Grizzlies had a rough outing against their rivals, the L.A. Clippers, but had a few bright spots.
The Memphis Grizzlies (3-3) fell to .500 after a 99-88 loss to the L.A. Clippers on Friday night despite a career night for Mike Conley
The Good
The Grizzlies, although they played poorly most of the game, managed to cut a 21-point deficit to single digits late in the fourth quarter. The team showed resilience and were a couple baskets short of completing the comeback.
Mike Conley came to play. He dropped a personal record 7 3-pointers as part of his 30-point scoring outburst. His play matched Chris Paul throughout the whole competition.
The Bad
Speaking of Chris Paul, the Clippers point guard had six steals which were only a fraction of the Memphis Grizzlies’ 18 turnovers. Rarely will anyone win games turning the ball over that often.
Marc Gasol did not shoot well for most of the game. He ended with 38.9 percent shooting but did not look right, especially considering he went 3-for-17 against the Pelicans.

The team also stayed in could trouble. They had a total of 28 personal fouls, only a few of which were intentional at the end of the game. Several came from smaller guards getting caught on Blake Griffin in transition defense. Coach David Fizdale needs to find a way to eliminate that.
The Ugly
Early in the game, a call was made on a Chris Paul layup. It was…not good to say the least.
I’m not even sure Chris Paul flopped here, but he wasn’t even touched.
