Phoenix Suns

The Suns are coming off another rough loss to the Denver Nuggets 120-104 on Wednesday night…Phoenix is on a 3-game losing streak…The Suns will look to rebound and improve to 2-1 against their Eastern Conference foe this season, the third game of a six-game road trip…Brandon Knight is coming off a great game at Denver, scoring 32 points in the loss…Devin Booker continues to lead the Suns in scoring at a clip of 20.5 ppg, but he has been inconsistent so far this season. TJ Warren is right behind him in scoring at 19.0 ppg. Warren has cooled off a bit since his red-hot start to the season, but he’s maintaining enough to be in the conversation for the NBA Most Improved Player award. Tyson Chandler has played very well and has anchored the Phoenix interior defense, averaging 12.3 rpg this season. His defense against Myles Turner and Al Jefferson will be a key in this game…The Suns currently have no one on the injury list…Phoenix will continue their road trip after this game, moving on to play Philadelphia on Saturday…The Suns are still league leaders infield goals attempted, 2-point field goals made and attempted, second in free throws made and attempted, second in total rebounds, third in defensive rebounds, fourth in offensive rebounds, and fifth in steals…However, as Kory Miller discussed (below), the 3-point shot is killing the Suns. They are 20th in three’s attempted, but 26th in three’s made and 29th in three point percentage at 30.5%…

Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are flying high after a big win at home vs Cleveland 103-93 on Wednesday night. Indiana is 6-6 on the season and in the middle of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. Paul George is still the unquestioned leader and star of the team, averaging 21.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg so far this season. Myles Turner has also been a pleasant surprise for the Pacers. The young big man is averaging over 14 ppg and 7 rpg in his second season. He’s quickly turning into one of the league’s better inside players. Rodney Stuckey is questionable for the game against Phoenix with a hamstring injury. The Pacers embark to Oklahoma City after this game to play the Thunder on Sunday…The Pacers are first in the NBA in field goals made and second in attempts…They are also second in two point field goals made behind only the Suns, and third in attempts. Look for a high scoring game tonight as the Indiana is sixth in the scoring, and 6th I defensive scoring allowed…Led by Jeff Teague’s 6.4 assists per game, the Indiana is second in the category…Defensively, the Pacers are number one in the NBA in blocks, and number two in steals…
