Joel Embiid is no stranger to a solid training regiment. His training video shows just what that requires.
Joel Embiid is not about playing in the NBA. He is training to dominate the NBA. And so when I was contacted by Whistle Sports Social Discovery Manager Josh regarding a new Joel Embiid workout video they have compiled over at Whistle Sports, I was all in.
After all, this is the player Sam Hinkie knew could change an NBA franchise.
And so, while the team deals Jerami Grant away, and seeks an opportunity to follow suit with Nerlens Noel, It’s a good opportunity to revisit who this team is building upon.
When you look at the size weight and physicality of Joel Embiid, you might guess that he is perfectly structured to play the NBA post. You wouldn’t be wrong, simply partially correct. How so?
Embiid is more than just a traditional NBA center. He has the skillset of an NBA guard, with a reckless dogging upon the ball handler capable of frustrating even the more skilled NBA point guards.
He also has a full shot arsenal. Not limited to dunks or alley oops, he has a nice make up of layups, jumpers, and even accuracy from three point range. So when I was informed of the video to share with readers, I didn’t hesitate. I was more than happy to do so.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been seeking a player with vision to become great in the NBA. What they have found is a player who expects to dominate the NBA, and has committed himself to doing just that.
So far the Philadelphia 76ers have been awaiting the signs of their first “cornerstone” player. With the recent move to trade for Ersan Ilyasova today, it appears that the Philadelphia 76ers have found one of their three cornerstone players.
As the team awaits the return to health of top draft pick Ben Simmons, the plan is beginning to form. Embiid at center. Ilyasova is a stretch four. Sergio Rodriguez handing out dimes from point guard, and driving to the basket for scores. For now, the team is not quite “there” yet. But building around Joel Embiid is a wise direction to take.
