Nets to participate in both Orlando and Las Vegas Summer League
The NBA's set-up for summer league is empirically strange. With two different leagues, not every team is participating at the same time.
One summer league takes place in Orlando. The other is in Las Vegas. Usually, the Nets will head to Florida for the first week of July, steering clear of Sin City during the hottest time of the year. This year, that all changes. The Nets will participate in both summer leagues for the first time since 2008, and they've already announced part of their roster.
From NetsDaily:
"Billy King has said Mason Plumlee along with rookies Markel Brown and Cory Jefferson and last year's No. 59 pick, Xavier Thames, will participate, as will whoever the Nets pick on June 25. Plumlee is likely to play only some games. It's likely that there will be some variations in the Nets rosters for the two leagues, considering how packed the schedules are. In Orlando, teams play five games in seven days."
Brooklyn will be one of two teams sending affiliates to both summer leagues. The other is the Miami Heat.
