NBA reporter Craig Sager to begin treatment for acute leukemia, son says
Veteran sideline reporter Craig Sager, known for his bright personality and even brighter colored suits, has been diagnosed with acute leukemia and will begin treatment Friday, according to his son.
UPDATE: Sager issued this statement through Turner Sports:
Craig Sager Jr. tweeted the following Thursday night, suggesting his father would not be covering the NBA playoffs in the immediate future:
The elder Sager has long covered basketball for Turner Sports, including "The NBA on TNT" and the NCAA tournament. He also appears on TBS' MLB postseason coverage and has previously reported at the Olympics and the World Cup.
