NBA GMs surveyed believe Jahlil Okafor will win Rookie of the Year
Jahlil Okafor fell to the Sixers in this summer's draft, and even though Philadelphia's roster is more in need of a point guard than a big man at this point, the team grabbed Okafor with the third overall pick while sticking to their "best available player" strategy.
According to a survey of NBA general managers, the Sixers are likely to be very pleased with their selection.
When asked who they believed would come away with Rookie of the Year honors, here's how the voting shook out:
A combination of having an NBA-ready offensive skill set and getting a heavy dose of minutes should certainly make Okafor one of the favorites.
1. Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia -- 44.8%
2. Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota -- 34.5%
3. Emmanuel Mudiay, Denver -- 13.8%
Also receiving votes: D'Angelo Russell, L.A. Lakers; Myles Turner, Indiana
