NBA GMs: Marc Gasol is the NBA's best center, international player

Remember when the Grizzlies traded for Marc Gasol and it was immediately deemed one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history—against Memphis. It turns out, the public was all kinds of wrong when it thought the Griz got duped into trading away Pau Gasol for his brother, Marc.

Now, in Marc, they have one of the best centers in the league. Or, according to the annual survey of NBA GMs released on NBA.com Tuesday, they have the best 5-man in the league.

Here is the list of the NBA's best centers according to the GM survey:

1. Marc Gasol, Memphis -- 65.5 percent

2. DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento -- 13.8 percent

3t. Anthony Davis, New Orleans -- 6.9 percent

3t. Tim Duncan, San Antonio -- 6.9 percent

3t. DeAndre Jordan, L.A. Clippers -- 6.9 percent

The love for the former Defensive Player of the Year didn't stop there. Gasol also topped the list of best international player, finishing one spot ahead of his familial rival:

1. Marc Gasol, Memphis  -- 62.1 percent

2. Pau Gasol, Chicago -- 17.2 percent

3. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas -- 10.3 percent

4. Tony Parker, San Antonio -- 6.9 percent

5. Goran Dragic, Miami -- 3.4 percent

Gasol certainly gets the respect he deserves, and that was backed up financially this summer, when he signed a max deal to stay in Memphis. Now, a year after Dwight Howard was named best center and Nowitzki was named best international player, it appears the GMs are catching on.
