Mirza Teletovic getting closer to playing

Mirza Teletovic is making positive steps. That's still all the Brooklyn Nets could possibly want.

The Brooklyn Nets' stretch 4 hasn't played since Jan. 22 against the Los Angeles Clippers when he left the game early because of exhaustion. After his breath was particularly short, team trainer Tim Walsh insisted Teletovic head to a local hospital. After arriving, he learned he had sustained multiple blood clots in his lungs.

Teletovic is one of three current or former NBA players to be plagued with this or a similar injury this season. Chris Bosh is missing the rest of the year, as well, with blood clots in his lungs. Former Portland Trail Blazer Jerome Kersey recently passed away from a similar condition.

When blood clots enter the conversation, talk steers away from basketball. It's purely about getting healthy on your own time.

Teletovic has made some appearances at Barclays Center, but just to show emotional support for his teammates who are currently in a playoff race. Even with this good news, he won't be ready to play until next season at the earliest.
