Milwaukee Bucks: Grades From 104-88 Loss To Utah Jazz

The Milwaukee Bucks are now 1-9 in their last ten games after getting beaten once more, this time by the Utah Jazz. How did each Buck do in the latest loss?

Thank the lord for Thon Maker. Thon has now started two straight games at center for the Milwaukee Bucks, and he’s been one of the very few bright spots over the last few games for Bucks fans that can still stomach watching the team right now.
It’s not just that Milwaukee has lost nine of their last ten games. Obviously that’s not a great result or anything, especially for a team with an All-Star starter, but something is just wrong with the team right now.
The Bucks don’t seem to fit together all that well, which is crazy considering how well the team was clicking before Matthew Dellavedova got hurt a few weeks ago. Delly is back and starting again now, but like Drake once said, nothing was the same.
At one point before that injury, Milwaukee was building a legitimate case to have homecourt advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Now the Bucks are quickly losing any chance to even appear in said playoffs.
To see where Milwaukee went wrong in the game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, we’ll go through each Buck that played and grade them on said performance. After that it’ll be time for Jason Kidd to get his marks, followed by Utah as a team being graded.

Starters
Matthew Dellavedova
G, Milwaukee Bucks
CMatthew Dellavedova wasn’t horrible on Wednesday, but he wasn’t exactly a game-changer. Delly led the Bucks with seven assists, but he also coughed up the rock four times and scored just five points. In addition, the Jazz crushed the Bucks while Delly was on the floor–in his 26 minutes the Bucks were outscored by 15 points. Yikes. Delly also grabbed a rebound and a steal, but he shot 33 percent from both two- and three-point range.
Tony Snell
G, Milwaukee Bucks
B+How things have changed. Earlier in the season I did not trust Tony Snell. I have never been so wrong. I hope Tony Snell stays with the Bucks for the rest of his life, or at least the rest of my life. (I need something positive right now. Don’t judge me.) He took three shots, all of them threes, two of them made threes. He also grabbed seven rebounds, tied with Jabari Parker for the most among all Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
G/F, Milwaukee Bucks
FThis was the worst game of Giannis Antetokounpo’s season. He had four points in the first half and then five points in the second half, which adds up to nine points, which is less than half of his average points per game number for this season. Giannis added six rebounds, four asissts and a steal. Milwaukee got thrashed by 20 points while he was on the floor. It was not good.
Jabari Parker
F, Milwaukee Bucks
BJabari Parker was probably the best Buck in this game, although that may not be saying all that much. He finished the night with a team-high 17 points, along with seven rebounds, one steal and one block. Jabari shot 50 percent from the field and missed both of his two attempted triples. He had three turnovers as well, and just like Giannis the team got crushed with Jabari on the floor. This game was a tough one to watch.
Thon Maker
C, Milwaukee Bucks
B+Thon Maker is my everything right now. Thon made a career-high and also team-high three three-pointers on Wednesday, as part of his 12-point night. Thon also added five rebounds, one steal and a whopping three blocks. He was one of the few Bucks to keep the energy level high throughout the game, and as such the Jazz only beat Milwaukee by six points while Thon was on the floor. Next: Bench

Bench
Greg Monroe
C, Milwaukee Bucks
BGreg Monroe had a decent scoring night, dropping 13 points on 50 percent field goal shooting, but he didn’t make too much of an impact otherwise. Moose added three rebounds, one assist and two steals. It certainly wasn’t a bad performance, and like always Monroe was one of the few consistent bench contributors, but he’s definitely been better than he was against Utah.
Malcolm Brogdon
G, Milwaukee Bucks
BMalcolm Brogdon, known good basketball player, had a nice game against the Jazz. He put up 10 points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals, and shot 50 percent from the field. He did turn the ball over three times, but Brogdon was perfect from three-point range and managed to help the Bucks stay dead even with Utah when he was on the floor.
Michael Beasley
F, Milwaukee Bucks
CThere was some anti-Michael Beasley sentiment going around on Bucks Twitter due to Beas taking some shots that could’ve gone to Thon late in the game, but Beasley was one of two Bucks with a positive plus/minus on Wednesday. He dropped eight points, three rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes, although it did take him an inefficient seven shots to get there.
Jason Terry
SG, Milwaukee Bucks
BJason Terry is trying his best to continually bring life to a team that plays like *insert popular zombie reference here*, and each night he continues to be one of the most energetic players on the floor. JET was good on Wednesday, recording two points, three assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block. It is a little sad when a 39-year-old is the one who has to get the rest of the team’s energy up.
Mirza Teletovic
F, Milwaukee Bucks
BIt feels like Bizarro world–Mirza Teletovic scored six points on three made two-point shots instead of two made three-point shots. He made three of his four shots, and also added two rebounds and turned the ball over once. It’s incredible how much this man can do in eight minutes of action–Mirza also committed two personal fouls in that time!Next: Jason Kidd

DThe Milwaukee Bucks defense isn’t working and the Milwaukee Bucks offense isn’t working. The team isn’t bringing much energy to the games. The Bucks have lost nine of their last ten. At some point, these things just fall on the head coach, whether that’s right or wrong. Kidd continues to try pretty much everything to snap this losing streak–the latest gambit being starting Thon Maker–but nothing is really working right now. The Bucks need a jolt, but it’s unclear where that will or could come from. Next: Utah Jazz
