Michael Malone expects roster changes before next season
Michael Malone has barely been the head coach of the Nuggets for more than a day, and already he's making some pretty big claims. In his introductory press conference, Malone said that the Nuggets' current roster likely won't be the same come opening day. Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post has more:
"Malone talked about wanting players that hated to lose and that would be committed to conditioning themselves to be able to defend and run the way he expects for 48 minutes. He also said he didn't expect the roster now to be the one that opens the season."
This isn't that big of a surprise. It's been pretty obvious since the end of the season – really, even before – that the Nuggets were going to make some drastic changes to the roster. Ty Lawson is the most likely candidate to be traded, though Kenneth Faried is also a name that's been popping up in rumors lately.
