Michael Jordan calls Jeremy Lin his 'biggest acquisition'

The Charlotte Hornets were in the news over and over again this summer. They made a bunch of trades, signed a bunch of players and were involved in at least one blockbuster draft-night deal that eventually fell apart.

Michael Jordan, the team's owner, recently said which of his personnel decisions was the most important. To say the least, it was a surprise. Per the Xinhua News Agency:

Jordan made specific mention of Jeremy Lin, who joined in the Hornets from the LA Lakers this summer. Jordan saw it a successful deal, "We just got Jeremy Lin, who I think is going to be our biggest acquisition. His penetration, his shooting capability, his point guard savvy, he can really pass the basketball, his energy about the game of basketball something," Jordan said.

Lin is coming off a disappointing campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers, and signed with Charlotte for the lowly bi-annual exception. His outside shot remains a considerable question mark, as does his defensive ability on and off the ball.

But Lin can still get to the rim, draw fouls and finish once he gets there. He's dynamite in the pick-and-roll, too, and the Hornets would be foolish not to utilize his strengths as much as they can.
