Miami Heat: Is Rajon Rondo The Best PG Dwyane Wade's Ever Played With?
Dwyane Wade says Rajon Rondo is the best point guard that he’s ever played with; is he playing nice or taking a shot at the Miami Heat?
Dwyane Wade is the new kid on the block. He’s the new guy in school. Naturally, as he continues to make the transition from Miami to Chicago, he’s just trying to fit in. So you can’t really take everything he says, at the moment, all too seriously.
He’s going to be extra nice on purpose. He’s going to go out of his way to praise his new teammates. Everyone does it when they make the move to a new team. It’s natural.
However, one of his most recent comments was rather thought proving. Earlier this week, Wade told reporters that Rajon Rondo is “the best point guard” he’s ever played with.
Here’s the exact quote:
My initial thought on this was: “that can’t be right.”
Then, “huh, maybe there was really a rift between him and Goran Dragic last season”.
First things first, here’s a list of notable point guards that Wade has played with throughout his career in the NBA.

Now, is Rondo really the best of that group? Maybe?
Another thing: was Wade talking about current Rondo or peak Rondo? If so, then maybe you can make that argument. However, there’s no way that current Rondo is better than current Goran Dragic.
Sorry, Dwyane.
And I don’t think any front office would agree with Wade. Not even the Chicago Bulls.
In the end, this is probably just Wade playing nice with his new teammates. Specifically Rajon Rondo, who he’s had a well-documented past with – and not in a good way.
On the other hand, this could be the evidence we need about Wade’s and Dragic’s reported “rift” last season. Think of it this way, Wade could’ve praised Rondo plenty of different ways other than saying he’s the best point guard he’s ever played with.
Wade is an intelligent man. He doesn’t do anything without purpose.
Do I think this was Wade taking a shot at Dragic, because their fit was so awkward last season? I doubt it. Wade is smart, but almost always takes the high road. Though, it is something to think about.
