Mark Cuban: Mavs won't tank this season
Although the offseason hasn't played out exactly how the Dallas Mavericks originally planned, it doesn't sound like there will be an overreaction to DeAndre Jordan's move back to Los Angeles.
With Dirk Nowitzki in the twilight of his career, the Mavs don't have any intention to tank, according to owner Mark Cuban.
Here's more from the Dallas Morning News:
"Should the Mavericks tank?
SportsDay’s Brad Townsend wrote an in-depth piece about the topic in Friday’s paper, where he said it’s hard to imagine the Mavericks being anything but bad next season.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, though, appeared to quash any questions about tanking for the sake of earning a better draft pick in an email to Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Dwain Price."
Asked if his team will tank games this season to get a higher draft pick, #Mavs owner Mark Cuban said via email: "No we won't tank.''
