Manu Ginobili now has more playoff victories than Michael Jordan
Manu Ginobili is one of the winningest players in NBA history. It's all he does. Every season his team makes the playoffs, and (almost) every season they win a bunch of games.
Still, it's a little surprising to see where Ginobili sits on the NBA's all-time playoff victories list. Here's more, courtesy of the San Antonio Express-News:
"Manu Ginobili once said he probably would have peed his pants if he’d been able to meet his childhood idol, Michael Jordan, as a kid. While that never happened, the veteran guard can take satisfaction in his latest achievement, with the Spurs’ 111-107 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday pushing him past Jordan to tie for 10th on the NBA’s career individual playoff victories list."
There's a bit of an asterisk here, as Jordan took two seasons off to dabble in minor league baseball, played in an era when the first round was a best-of-five series and, well, usually obliterated the competition in as switch a manner as possible, limiting the number of games his team needed to play.
Still, all in all, anytime you pass Jordan, you deserve a round of applause.
