LeBron James honored Prince William, Kate Middleton will see him play
Basketball royalty will have the chance to meet actual royalty.
Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton will be at the Barclays Center on Monday night to watch the Brooklyn Nets take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James has played in front of many important leaders, including the President of the United States, but never in front of a prince and duchess. King James expressed his excitement to ESPN's Dave McMenamin during the Cavaliers' practice Sunday in New York.
"It's a huge honor," James said. "The stuff that you read about, people like them are only in books growing up. And to hear that they're coming to town to see me play and they want to see me do what I do best, it's a huge honor."
James called it a "pretty big deal" for Will and Kate to come to the United States and make a pit stop in New York, and he's hopeful about the chance to meet the royal couple in person.
"I would like to (meet them)," James said. "They are going to be at the game, so hopefully I get the opportunity to interact with them a little bit. We'll see what happens."
