LA Clippers' DeAndre Jordan jokes Chris Bosh can start for L.A.
Chris Bosh won’t be joining the LA Clippers, but DeAndre Jordan joked that he’d come off the bench so Bosh can start in Los Angeles.
The LA Clippers benching DeAndre Jordan and adding Chris Bosh as their new starting center? Wouldn’t that be a spectacular turn of events? In the imaginary world of some fans, it may even happen. Why not add Bosh’s smooth three-point shot to give the Clippers’ offense an exceptional amount of spacing?
Well, of course, it will never happen for too many reasons (from salary cap to fit) to get into right now. But it’s a fun thought, and Jordan has joked that he’d even be willing to come off the bench to make it happen.
When asked by TMZ about Bosh’s messy situation with the Miami Heat and their decision to end his career with them after his persisting blood clot issues have caused serious doubts as to whether he can play again, Jordan quipped that he’d like Bosh to join the Clippers.
“I love Chris Bosh. He’s a native Texan. I hope that he gets healthy soon. I would [like to see him play again]… I think he should come to the Clippers,” Jordan added with a smirk. “I’d come off the bench.”
With that, he shut the car door and left a pestering reporter on the side of the street.
If the Clippers don’t already have the best frontcourt in the NBA, adding Chris Bosh would certainly give them that title.

His combination of shooting and strong defense next to Blake Griffin would form an incredible offensive duo, and Jordan coming off the bench as he suggested in this make-believe scenario would be a ridiculous amount of backup talent to have.
That being said, keeping Jordan’s superior defense, athleticism, rebounding, and pick-and-roll threat in the starting lineup would be the better option. Bosh could instead serve as an offensive anchor for the second unit without even needing to stagger the minutes of Chris Paul and Griffin.
Anyway, let’s stop thinking about this. It isn’t happening. But Jordan gave us a laugh, and we’re all with him in hoping that Chris Bosh can overcome his health issues and play again as he’s so desperate to.
Unfortunately, he needs to persevere through his now personal issues with the Heat (after Bosh found out from the media that Pat Riley wouldn’t keep him) and see whether he can continue to play basketball.
