Jazz visit JFK site a day before game in Dallas

The Utah Jazz visited the site of President John F. Kennedy's assassination a day before playing the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

The Jazz went on Thursday to the Sixth Floor Museum in the building where Lee Harvey Oswald fired at JFK. Friday was the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

Members of the Jazz were given a guided tour and took pictures with their cellphones both inside the museum and outside at Dealey Plaza.

''It was a great experience for me,'' rookie guard Trey Burke said. ''At the book depository, everybody had their own answer. The dialogue we had amongst each other was exciting.''

The Jazz have taken previous sightseeing trips with historical significance. In past seasons, the team has toured the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis and the memorial to the bombing victims in Oklahoma City.

''I knew the history of what happened,'' guard Diante Garrett said, ''but this was all the details. Things like where the shots came from.''
