Impressive Trail Blazers aren't overconfident: 'It's early'
The Portland Trail Blazers are 3-2 with a top-10 point differential. They look extremely good on both sides of the ball, whether you're judging them relative to expectations or inside a vacuum.
But nobody on the team is too excited about the hot start. Here's what head coach Terry Stotts and star point guard Damian Lillard had to say after last night's huge win against the Jazz, per The Oregonian:
They're right. It is early. But that shouldn't take away from Portland's accomplishments so far. They look tremendous, and might just surprise some people this season.
"It's early in the season," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "I'm pleased that we're 3-2, but certainly we've got a long way to go." Lillard repeated the message: "It's early. We've only played five games."
