Howard leads fan vote for All-Star Game
Magic center Dwight Howard is leading all comers in fan voting for the NBA All-Star Game in Orlando next month, the league announced Thursday.
Despite seeing his scoring numbers drop by nearly five points per game so far this season, Howard leads the league with 754,737 fan votes, followed by Lakers veteran superstar Kobe Bryant with 690,613 votes and Heat forward LeBron James on 640,789 votes.
Fan votes decide who starts for the Eastern and Western conference teams during the annual game on Feb. 26. Voting ends Jan. 31.
If the teams were named Thursday, the players starting for the East would be Howard, James, Carmelo Anthony (Knicks), Derrick Rose (Bulls) and Dwyane Wade (Heat).
Those starting for the West would be Bryant, Kevin Durant (Thunder), Blake Griffin (Clippers), Chris Paul (Clippers) and Andrew Bynum (Lakers).
