The Houston Rockets added draft picks and signed free agents to improve upon an especially mediocre 41-41 campaign. Big man Dwight Howard left for Atlanta while free agents Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon, Nene Hilario and Pablo Prigioni joined Houston in free agency.

Hopes are these additions and the growth of existing assets will translate into a season similar to 2014-15. While fans wait for opening night on October 26th versus the Lakers hopefully this series will appease your cravings.

To that end, this series showcases the Rockets 82 games noting the pregame analysis, post game grades, and relevant video. Furthermore, SCS will highlight significant changes made by their opponents this summer. So, here it is – – enjoy all 82 posts as SCS takes you back over the 2015-16 season.

Post Game Analysis:

On the road once more the Houston Rockets faced the young Milwaukee Bucks. But, despite a great game by the Rockets star duo, the home court advantage and Jabari Parker snatched the victory. Furthermore Houston are sinking without a trace under .500 and in jeopardy of missing the post season.

With Jason Kidd betting on his squad’s reach and specifically their height, it took a while for the Rockets to adapt to the Bucks long, slim forwards.

Overall the game was very entertaining with both sides favoring their offensive potential over defensive awareness choosing instead to showcase athleticism and dunks. The game was highlighted by great performances from sophomore Jabari Parker and veteran Trevor Ariza.

Ultimately though the Rockets have suffered when trading baskets with their adversary, the team showed they don’t learn from their mistakes and the Bucks made them pay for it.

Stat Leaders:

As per the note above Andre Cantalogo picked Trevor Ariza and Jabari Parker as the top game performers.

Trevor Ariza

SF, Houston Rockets

AIt’s not that Giannis Antetokounmpo was too much for Trevor Ariza to handle by any means, it’s just that the greek’s combination of athleticism and remarkable speed (for a big guy) made it extra-tough for the Rockets’ defender to stop him in traffic, still, I believe Ariza did a good job on defense, especially considering how poor Corey Brewer was when guarding Giannis. On offense Ariza was a monster. He just couldn’t miss his three pointers! Trevor also helped creating second-chances opportunities with offensive rebounds and slashing the defense with his drives. Great game for Ariza and a career high in assists! 20 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds and 2 steals for Ariza.

Jabari Parker

    Draft Picks and Free Agents

Apparently length is the number one trait the scouts in Milwaukee seek as they continue to add more lanky players with long wing spans to the mix.

    Draft Picks:

    Round 1: Thon Maker (10)

    Round 2: Malcolm Brogdon (36)

    Incoming Free Agents/trade:
