Hornets' Jack out remainder of season

Published Apr. 9, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Hornets starting point guard Jarrett Jack will miss the rest of the season because of a stress fracture in his right foot.

Jack had missed the Hornets' last three games before the club announced on Monday, hours before hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, that Jack would not recover in time to play before the season ended.

Jack moved into a starting role when Chris Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers shortly before the regular season began.

Now in his seventh season, the former Georgia Tech standout has averaged NBA career-highs of 15.6 points, 6.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds in an average of 34 minutes per game.

Late last month, Jack recorded his first NBA triple-double with 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds against Golden State.
