Here's how Riley Curry helped Steph Curry pick Under Armour over Nike and Adidas

Although Nike might not have helped its cause when it came time to re-sign Stephen Curry to a shoe deal, it sounds like it was Riley Curry who made the decision for her dad to sign on with Under Armour.

Well, sort of, anyway. The adults in the room probably had the final say, and there's a lot that goes into such a big decision. But according to the Golden State Warriors point guard, his young daughter played a crucial role in the decision with her one-year-old smarts:

"My favorite story is Riley," Steph says. It's a few weeks before a final decision on the shoe contract must be made. At his agent Jeff Austin's house in Hermosa Beach, California, Curry surveys the array of shoes before him. He asks his baby daughter, "Riley, which one do you like?"

At this point, Riley is little over 1 year old. She is presented with a Nike sneaker, an Adidas sneaker and an Under Armour sneaker. She picks up "shoe one," a Nike. "Threw it over her shoulder," Curry says. "She picked up shoe two, threw it over her shoulder. She picked up the third shoe, walked over and handed it to me." It was the Under Armour Anatomix Spawn. "So I knew right then," Curry says, smiling.

It's kind of a brilliant move, if we take Curry's story at face value. What better way to focus-test the product with the buyers of the future than to rope your own kid into the process?

Children absolutely love the defending MVP, and they love his shoes, too. On that front, Riley Curry was a trendsetter.
