Hawes to miss remainder of season with knee injury

Published Apr. 1, 2010 6:53 p.m. ET

The Sacramento Kings say center Spencer Hawes will miss the rest of the season with an injured left knee.

The Kings say that an MRI done Thursday revealed a deep bone bruise and an irregular signal in the joint line in Hawes' left knee. Hawes will get a second opinion from the Seattle doctor who operated on his left knee before his rookie season.

The Kings say Hawes will miss the final six games of the season. He is averaging 10.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
