It's pretty nice to head out to California every once in a while. Apparently, the Grizzlies agree with that sentiment.
The team has announced on its website that training camp this year will be held at the University of California at Santa Barbara instead of in Memphis, where the team has most often (though not always) held training camp since coming to Tennessee in 2001. Here's more:
Those times in Spain were obviously because of the presence of Pau Gasol. Who knows? Maybe it could happen against given Marc Gasol's power. For now, though, I imagine chilling out in Santa Barbara for a week will be pretty darn nice for everyone involved.

The Memphis Grizzlies will hold training camp at the Robertson Gymnasium on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara from Sept. 29-Oct. 3.
Before departing for Santa Barbara, the Grizzlies will hold their annual Media Day in Memphis on Monday, Sept. 28 at FedExForum.
This marks the first time that the Grizzlies have held training camp in Santa Barbara. Since relocating from Vancouver in 2001, the organization has held camp in Memphis nine times and has also traveled to San Diego, Calif. (2014), Nashville, Tenn. (2013) and Birmingham, Ala. (2009), as well as Malaga, Spain (2007) and Barcelona, Spain (2003) as part of the NBA Europe Live Tour.
