Welcome to Grind City Views, Beale Street Bears’ roundup of the most relevant Memphis Grizzlies stories across the web.

The Memphis Grizzlies can’t stop winning without Mike Conley, but is that a good thing? Also, a D.J. Stephens update, a look at Klay Thompson’s historic night and more.

“I’m living my dream, but there’s still more that I want to check off. I have high expectations for myself. I want to be an All-Star, so I’ve still got a lot to go. Everybody says once you get in the NBA it’s hard to stay in the NBA, [and when] I hit adversity last year, it felt like I was almost out of the NBA.”

James Ennis, a native of Ventura, CA, opened up to The Undefeated about his new life in Memphis, playing Call of Duty with Mike Conley, his life in the offseason and more.

D.J. Stephens opens up about life as a basketball nomad and his NBA dream

“To every NBA GM out there, if I could have a one-on-one conversation with them, I’d just say, ‘If you give me this opportunity, I promise you will not regret it,’” Stephens said. “’It will be one of the best decisions that you’ve ever made in your life.’”

D.J. Stephens won his first game in Ukraine last night. His contract runs until April (with a few clauses that would allow him to leave early, but only under certain circumstances).

Golden State Warriors: About Klay Thompson’s Career Night [Hoops Habit]

“Not only did Thompson have half of his team’s 80 points at the break, but he was also 10

points shy of the entire Pacers team by himself. Shooting 15-for-22 from the field and 5-for-9 from three-point range, Thompson racked up his 40 first half points in an astonishingly low 18 minutes.”

Klay Thompson’s 60 points in 29 minutes: 2.07 points per minute.

Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points in 48 minutes: 2.08 points per minute.

Who’s excited for this game?

While close wins are fun, Memphis Grizzlies fans should be worried

“Per Basketball Reference, the Grizzlies have had the third-easiest schedule in the NBA, but rank only 14th in average margin of victory at -0.48, a substantial drop behind the Milwaukee Bucks, who are 13th at +2.05.”

Now, the Grizzlies run the gauntlet in a three-game run where they’ll host the Golden State Warriors and play a home-and-home with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
