Green's jumper remains a key part of San Antonio's attack

San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Danny Green has not gotten off to the best start this season. He's shooting just 31.4 percent from behind the three-point line and 34.7 percent from the floor.

San Antonio needs him to make outside shots so that its floor stays spread, and despite the pressure, Green isn't worried about his early-season slump, per the San Antonio Express-News:

The shots will soon fall, and once they do San Antonio's offense will again hum like one of the best in the league. Right now they're relying on their defense, which is fine. But eventually they'll need to put some points up, and few are better at doing that in bunches than Green.

When it came to his game, Green admitted that he’s been rushing his shot a little, not catching and shooting the way he wants. With the Spurs putting more emphasis on post play with Aldridge and Leonard, the ball movement may not be as it was last season; hence, Green needs to find other ways to get his points. This is where patience comes in. “I got to find a counteraction, take my pullup and just let the open [threes] come,” said Green.
