Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Live stream and preview
The Golden State Warriors will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas in preseason action.
The best team in California will be taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in a preseason matchup. The Warriors are looking to improve to 4-1 and, more importantly, build on some of the good things they did against the Denver Nuggets. But they’ll be facing a hungry Lakers team looking to snap a two game losing streak.
It’s a matchup of the Apprentice challenging the Master. Warriors’ Head Coach Steve Kerr and Lakers’ Head Coach Luke Walton exchanged playful jabs prior to the game. Kerr told reporters that Andre Iguodala and David West will be resting because “I want to give Luke every opportunity to prepare for tomorrow’s clash.”
Walton is quick on his feet too though. He told reporters “you tell Steve that Lou Williams isn’t playing either so he can have his full opportunity.” Checkmate.
The Lakers are struggling right now, but they have some reason to be excited. D’Angelo Russell has been exciting and some of their young talent can grow with Walton. They also stole a game from Golden State last year.
For the Warriors, expect to see more Patrick McCaw. He had a great game, pouring in 18 points against the Nuggets. He hit a game-tying three-pointer to send it into overtime. He then scored 10 points in OT including the game-winning, buzzer beating floater in traffic.

The Warriors’ three-point shooting isn’t where they want it to be, but Klay Thompson has shot well. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 22 points, but he shot just 2-9 from deep. He’s still trying to find his touch from beyond the arc.
If anyone knows the Warriors, it’s Luke Walton. He coached them for half the season when Kerr was still recovering from back surgery. He could definitely have this Lakers team prepared to counter everything the Warriors’ All-Star talent throws at them.
