FanDuel NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy Basketball Lineup For December 5

Any FanDuel NBA lineup featuring Otto Porter at the small forward position has received tremendous value over the past five games.

The continuous search for a high level of production at a low valuation is the constant battle for any FanDuel NBA lineup.

Filling out a lineup featuring nine players, with an average price of $6,667, means each roster has to provide balance. For every superstar player, a role player with a high statistical output is necessary.

For the past five games, no player in FanDuel NBA tournaments has been overachieving more than Washington Wizards forward Otto Porter.

Over the past 10 games, Porter has totaled 25 or more FanDuel NBA points on eight occasions, resulting in his price-tag greatly fluctuating.

Ever since he achieved a season-high cost of $6,500 in FanDuel NBA leagues on Nov. 12, which resulted in just 16.3 points, Porter has been one of the most difficult players to properly assess.

Porter has posted 31.8 fantasy points per game, a level similar to the 31.2 points Dwyane Wade is averaging this year, but with a $700 differential.

In his fourth season, Porter has provided excellent rebounding numbers, tremendous perimeter defense and has score more than 20 percent of his total points in transition.

The third overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft has evolved into a legitimate shooting threat from all over the court, converting 52.7 percent of his attempts from the field and 38.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc, both marks are career-highs.

By becoming one of the most efficient perimeter defenders, ranking 11th in the NBA in steals per game at 1.9, Porter has been able to routinely score easy points off the fast break, helping the Wizards post 14.2 points in transition per game.

In each of his last four appearances, Porter has recorded at least three steals and is coming off a season-high four-steal effort against the Spurs Friday night.

The primary increase in Porter’s value for FanDuel NBA rosters is because of his high volume of rebounding. The 8.3 rebounds is a higher total than All-Star forwards Paul Millsap, LeBron James or LaMarcus Aldridge are averaging this year.

Golden State’s Kevin Durant is the only true small forward averaging a higher rebound total than Porter this season.

Porter should be included in any FanDuel NBA roster Monday night not only because of his output, but also due to the opponent. Brooklyn is surrendering 48.4 rebounds per game, the most any team is allowing this year.

The Wizards have responded by playing Porter 34.7 minutes per game, third most on the team, giving him plenty of opportunities to rebound, steal or score.

No matter how he contributes, he should be a part of any FanDuel NBA lineup while his cost is low.
