The Denver Nuggets have recently put on two other training camp bodies along with the two already added, but do any of these have a shot at the last spot?

The Denver Nuggets have recently added D.J. Kennedy and Nate Wolters to their training camp squad, and yesterday they signed two more players.

The two players added were former Purdue sharpshooter Robbie Hummel and former Tennessee big man Jarnell Stokes. Both of these players will prove to be a quality threats to the last roster spot.

Now, let us take a deeper look into who exactly the Denver Nuggets have signed.

Robbie Hummel

During his senior season at Purdue, Hummel collected 16.4 points per game and over 2.0 threes per game also. Hummel led the Boilermakers and was among the finalists for the Wooden Award twice.

Hummel has been bouncing since he entered in 2012. Hummel was drafted at the tail end of the 2012 NBA draft, and he never really fit into the rotation in Minnesota. He averaged at most 16.5 minutes per game which was during his second season in the league.

He ended up being pretty ineffective in Minnesota, never averaging over 4.5 points per game. He post a nice 53.6 TS%. Hummel has upside, and he will look to reenergize his somewhat disappoint NBA career if he is given a chance in Denver.

Hummel was electrifying in college, but he has lost his force in the NBA, and he needs this opportunity to turn his career around.

The Denver Nuggets only have one more spot on their roster, and Hummel will need to excel in training camp in order to show that he belongs.

Jarnell Stokes

Jarnell Stokes was a man’s man, or at least he was in college. His junior season- which was his last- he averaged 15.1 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game all on a 57.6 TS%.

More from Nugg Love

Stokes found his way into the NBA after being selected by the Utah Jazz with the 35th pick in the 2014 NBA draft. That day, he was sent over in a trade to the Memphis Grizzles, where he would spend the entire next season. He spent the entire season in the organization, but not necessary with the Grizzles. He spent segments of the season with their D-league organization.

Stokes has never been able to get off of the ground in the NBA as he has never been able to averaged over seven minutes per game.

This is redemption for Stokes. He must prove that he has the talent. He needs this training camp experience to make the team and regain his traction in the NBA. With Denver recently trading away King Joff, it seems possible that they secure Stokes as a third-string center.

It will be interesting to see who Denver signs onto the 15-man roster after all.
