Davis to play for Pelicans despite sore shoulder

Published Feb. 28, 2014 2:50 p.m. ET

PHOENIX (AP) Anthony Davis is in the New Orleans Pelicans' lineup against the Phoenix Suns despite a sore left shoulder.

Pelicans coach Monty Williams said after the team's shootaround Friday that Davis felt better but would be a game-time decision.

Davis sprained his left shoulder in Wednesday night's loss at Dallas. He said he participated in the entire morning shootaround and the injury is not as painful as a similar one he experienced in the same shoulder last season.
