Damian Lillard to miss the second game of his career
Damian Lillard didn't miss a single game in his first three NBA seasons. Now, after a foot injury forced him out of Monday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Lillard will miss his second straight game on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Here's more, per ESPN:
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard will miss his second straight game Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The Blazers updated Lillard's status Tuesday, also announcing that shooting guard C.J. McCollum, who is dealing with sprains to both of his ankles, is questionable against New Orleans.
It's absolutely incredible for any player in the modern era to not miss a game for three straight years, especially someone who has the ball in his hands as often as Lillard. By missing his first game earlier this week, Lillard broke a streak of 275 straight regular season games played.
But plantar fasciitis is no joke, and the Trail Blazers are more concerned with their franchise player's long-term health than anything else.
