Charlotte Hornets Snap Their Two-Game Skid With a Win Over Minnesota
The Charlotte Hornets were able to pull off yet another comeback victory with a strong third quarter effort against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Charlotte Hornets (7-3) were able to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-7) to snap their two-game losing streak. After dropping their previous two games, the Hornets were able to bounce back with a quality victory over the young T-Wolves. Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum helped lead the way for Charlotte as they got back in the win column.
The Hornets were once again without Jeremy Lamb who continues to sit out with a hamstring injury. Despite missing Lamb, the second unit got along nicely as they were led by Frank Kaminsky. Charlotte’s bench outscored Minnesota’s 43-19.
Despite playing well for the better part of the first half, the Hornets struggled in the second quarter and were down by 12 points at halftime. Steve Clifford’s side looked like a completely different team in the third quarter. The Hornets usual third-period outburst helped them outscore Minnesota 36-17 and take the momentum into the fourth. That strong third quarter would eventually propel them to a win.

Once again, Kemba led the Hornets with a game-high 30 points to go along with five rebounds, and six assists. Kaminsky had a big night with the second unit as he scored a season-high 20 points. Nicolas Batum had a strong third quarter with three three-point shots that helped him record 16 points, five rebounds, and seven assists on the night.
Cody Zeller had a near double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds in this one. Marco Belinelli also had a strong performance off the bench as he scored 12 points. Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist struggled to find their shots as they each only scored six points on a combined 3-14 shooting from the field.
Zach LaVine, who torched Charlotte with 30 points in a preseason game earlier this year, scored 19 points on the night. Andrew Wiggins was Minnesota’s leading scorer with 29 points. Karl-Anthony Towns rounded out the young Big Three with 21 points and eight rebounds.

With the victory, the Hornets now hold a 1-0 lead in the season series over the T-Wolves. The two sides will meet once more this year on December 3rd in Charlotte.
In their next game, the Charlotte Hornets will return home to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, November 18th. It will be their first meeting against their division rivals this season. They will be looking to start a win streak after their comeback victory against Minnesota.
